CRANE BOOM OF 40M FABRICATED
MIT delivered a 40 m long lattice boom for a Bailey crane on a drilling platform in Thailand. This boom is produced again on the basis of the original drawings from the 80s.
The existing boom was corroded seriously due to poorly maintained preservation. Initially, MIT has made various repair advices and plans at the request of the customer. In the end, the customer decided to want the complete boom replaced.
MIT has made an offer and after receipt of the purchase order the production was prepared and set in motion.
In comparison to the original boom one important alteration was made at the request of the customer. The boom is delivered in four separate parts that can be assembled into a single unit with welded flange plates and bolts.
The boom parts came with preservation in a red and white top coat and were placed in 4 sea containers for transport to Bangkok.
