MIT INSTALLS 9 OVERHEAD CRANES
For five connected production halls MIT has delivered and installed nine overhead travelling cranes in the past period, replacing and extending existing cranes.
The delivered cranes vary in tonnage from 3.2 to 6.5 tons and are all equipped with radio remote control. Three of the seven cranes replaced by MIT were Bailey cranes and were installed in 1957, ever since they had been in daily use up until this replacement.
The crane track structures to which the new overhead cranes were installed have been calculated for the new loads and based on these they have been strengthened at several points. Also, the crane rails have been readjusted according to the applicable tolerances.
