CUSTOM MADE MODULAR GANTRY CRANES
One of our relationships needed lifting capacity for a limited time. For this MIT developed and manufactured a custom solution that can be reused in all kinds of other forms later.
The original request concerned the supply of a lifting set-up for loading and unloading of trailers in a temporary storage location, with a requested lifting capacity up to 20T.
MIT has explored and calculated several variants for an appropriate lifting arrangement. Because of the temporary nature of this set-up, we proposed our customer a design that is consistent with the request, but moreover it is built up completely modular so that it can be adapted for use in many other applications.
Our proposal was received enthusiastically after which we detailed and manufactured it in a short lead time.
The lifting arrangement comprises of 2 modular gantry cranes on a joint crane track each with 2 pieces 5 tons hoists. The hoists can be operates separately and in tandem configuration.
By using standard components, our custom solution is still maintenance and service friendly.
As a result of modular structure the cranes with any adjustments can be used in many varieties:
- in another location, by disassembling and rebuilding them elsewhere,
- with more lifting height, by extending the A-frames
- with more span, by using longer crane beams,
- as overhead cranes by not using the a-frames,
- etc.
In order to safely lift the loads of various dimensions MIT also designed and supplied 2 customized lift beam.
