SLEW BEARING OF 30-TONS TOWER CRANE REPLACED
The slew bearing of approximately 2.75m diameter for a tower crane of 30 tons capacity is delivered and assembled by MIT.
Upon inspection the bearing in the lower part of the tower crane construction was found to have an excessive amount of play and therefore it had to be replaced. Once the bearing was supplied, MIT carried out the assembly.
The complete tower including the boom had to be lifted from the frame. Replacing the bearing included the fixing bolts. After this operation, involving 2 mobile cranes and for which the slewing arrangements and various electrical cables had to be removed, the crane has been tested and activated again.
