MIT INSTALLS TWO 30-TON CRANES
MIT delivered and placed two overhead cranes in replacement of an existing overhead crane for a production hall.
The new cranes each have two 15-ton hoists and a faster 5-ton hoist. The combined capacity of both cranes is 60 tons. The crane that was replaced was a Bailey overhead that had been installed in the 50s and was still in use up to this replacement. This crane had a cabin from which the crane was operated form above. The new cranes are equipped with radio remote control, and can co-operate in complete tandem operation.
The hall construction and the crane track on which the new cranes were installed was calculated for the new loads. on the basis of these calculations, MIT reinforced the construction.
